Sri Lanka Showcases Its Tourism Potential at IFTM Paris 2026

 

Sri Lanka made a strong impression at this year’s International French Travel Market (IFTM) in Paris, showcasing the island’s diverse tourism offerings alongside 36 prominent Sri Lankan tourism companies.

The Sri Lanka Pavilion was officially inaugurated by H.E. Sugeeshwara Gunaratna, Ambassador of Sri Lanka to France, together with representatives of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, SriLankan Airlines, and distinguished representatives from the tourism industry.

The Sri Lankan delegation highlighted the country’s diverse tourism experiences, ranging from its rich cultural heritage and natural beauty to Ayurveda and other unique experiences, positioning Sri Lanka as an attractive and diverse destination for French travelers. The strong collaboration between the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau and the private sector further demonstrated Sri Lanka’s continued commitment to strengthening its presence in the French travel market.

IFTM Top Resa is one of France’s leading international tourism trade fairs. The 2026 edition brought together 32,022 tourism professionals, 1,650 brands and 177 destinations, with 16,725 business meetings facilitated during the three-day event.

Sri Lanka attracted considerable attention from trade professionals and visitors throughout the event. The Sri Lanka Pavilion showcased the country’s rich cultural heritage, natural beauty, Ayurveda and a wide range of tourism experiences. 

As part of the promotional activities, Ceylon Tea was served to visitors at the pavilion, providing an opportunity to further promote the renowned product in the French market. Traditional Sri Lankan dance performances held throughout the event also attracted considerable attention, drawing large numbers of visitors to the Sri Lanka Pavilion and creating an engaging cultural experience.

Through a combination of digital marketing, participation in international tourism events, public relations and consumer promotions, Sri Lanka continues to strengthen its presence in key international markets and position itself as a destination not to be missed.
