Sri Lanka Tourism makes another brilliant participation at the Holiday World 2024

Sri Lanka Tourism was able to place the destination on top of the world as one of the best travel destinations in the world at the Holiday World and Region World 2024 International travel fair held in the Czech Republic recently. This iconic event was held from 15th to 17th March 2024.  The opening ceremony of the Sri Lanka stand was held on 15th March 2024, with the presence of Mr. Mark Nemec, Honorary Consul of Sri Lanka in Czech Republic and the representatives from SLTPB, Sri Lanka Embassy in Vienna & ABF, organizer of Holiday World and the Sri Lanka Tourism stakeholders.

it was a spectacular moment for Sri Lanka Tourism as the Sri Lanka stand won the 1st place for the Most Impressive Exposition up to 100 sqms at the award ceremony which was held on evening 15th of March 2024. 

The Sri Lanka Pavilion at the Holiday World 2024   Travel Exhibition was lavishly decorated with   the iconic Heritage and cultural and themes related to    Sri Lanka Tourism, and also of Ayurvedic bliss, Wild Life and Traditional Cuisine. It was undoubtly one of the most beautifully decorated stalls at the event. A cultural dance troupe from Sri Lanka entertained the guests with their unique talents.  During this event, Sri Lanka received high praise and massive publicity throughout the whole event, also being the official partner. The Sri Lankan travel Industry stakeholders were able to hold discussions with their Czech counterparts on how to proceed with the travel related activities between the two destinations, and developing more Air connectivity etc. They were also able to meet leading Travel officials from the Czech Republic to develop official connections.  Recently Sri Lanka experienced a surge in tourist arrivals from European Countries such as Germany, Netherlands etc. Therefore, Sri Lanka needs to expand this market and promote it as an attractive destination in order to gain more arrivals from these countries. 


The Sri Lanka stall had a variety of products to offer where the visitors where they were absolutely enthralled to experience and explore.  As per the Sri Lankan culture and tradition, each visitor was able to taste a cup of freshly brewed Ceylon tea at the Stand. This was a new experience for the Czech officials as well, to connect and involve in the activities which took place at the Sri Lanka Stall. 

The Czech Republic can be an important source market given the necessary promotion and publicity it needs to have, to enable more tourists from this East European nation, also helping to contribute to Sri Lanka’s economic revenue.
