Situation Update

In light of the current political situation in the country, Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau(SLTPB), whilst welcoming foreign travelers, would like to assert that tourists are free to travel to any part of the country and tourist sites are safe to travel.

All regular international flights operate to Colombo as scheduled, with a noticeable forward momentum in arrival of charter flights over the last 30 days. There are no restrictions on travel within the country.

Sri Lanka Tourism regularly interacts with leading local travel agents, tour operators and the Tourist Police to ensure tourists feel safe regardless of where they travel to within the country

"There have been no complaints lodged or incidences reported from tourists. The Tourist Police are contactable for any emergency on +940112421070", said Chief Inspector of Tourist Police, Prabath Vidanagama.

All travelers could access 24 hours Tourism hotline 1912 for any information.
