The Buddharashmi National Vesak Festival

The Buddharashmi National Vesak Festival, which will be organized by the Presidential Secretariat and the Prime Minister’s Office in collaboration with Gangarama Temple, will be held on 5-7 May 2023 covering a large area within Colombo City. Many activities ranging from Vesak decorations, ‘Dansala’,Vesak Pandol, ‘Meditation for Mindfulness’ programs ,exhibition showcasing cultural and national heritage etc. are being planned .The week from the 02nd to 08th May will be declared as the Vesak week.The Government envisages to have a high number of tourist arrivals targeting the Vesak festival and the related activities across the Island.
