Navaratri Vratham is a nine-night (and ten days) Hindu festival celebrated. It is celebrated by Hindus to express their devotion to goddess Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswathi. Three days are dedicated to each goddess during which Hindus observe rituals and religious worships. On the last day Vijayadashami is celebrated to mark victory of God Rama over demon king Ravana.

The festival is celebrated for ten days commencing on the Shukla Chaturthi and finishing Anant Chaturthi. Besides Sri Lanka and India, it is also celebrated in Nepal and Malaysia and in other parts of the world as well.
