Melbourne Women’s Rugby Tournament

Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports and Agoal Rugby, has organized an exclusive rugby tournament in order to promote Sri Lanka as a sports tourism destination and give an opportunity to young Sri Lankan rugby players an opportunity to showcase their talent.

Rugby was originally a men's sport, and women's rugby has become popular only more recently.

The tournament aims to select two exceptional female Rugby players who will be offered scholarships and the opportunity to play for the prestigious Melbourne Rebels and Rugby Victoria teams. The SL Army SC, SL Air Force SC, C.R. & F.C., and SL Navy SC teams are going to participate in this tournament.
